Construction is taking place over the next 10 months to make the Robert M. Warner Research Center a more efficient and effective environment for research in the National Archives Building in Washington, DC. During this period, we will be keeping you in the loop on developments that may affect your ability to carry out your research and suggest any work-arounds that might be necessary. Whether visiting us in person or planning a trip to NARA, we want to ensure that you will have a productive research experience.
We will be communicating with you in a number of ways:
- Be sure to check NARA’s Researcher Forum page (http://www.archives.gov/dc-metro/researcher-forum/) for the latest information about the project. There you will find an overall description of the changes coming to the Center, the construction schedule, and a weekly report on the work to be done.
- If you wish to receive an e-mail alerting you to new information as it’s posted, you may request this service by sending a message to research@nara.gov, with the word “subscribe” in the subject line.
- When you are in the Washington, DC, area, you will find general information about the project in a brochure and in a presentation scrolling on a monitor in the Robert M. Warner Research Center in the National Archives Building and in the lobby of the National Archives at College Park. Construction activity taking place that week will also be highlighted on a flyer.
- Researchers attending bimonthly Researcher Forum sessions in the Washington, DC, area, will receive brief updates on the progress of the project and an opportunity to ask any questions you may have.
As you read NARAtions blog posts about the project, please engage us in discussion when needed and let us know if there is other information we can provide. We will continue to update you as construction continues!
