Regulation Nation

The following post comes from Stuart Culy of the Policy and Planning Staff

We want your comments, again!

Last December, the National Archives started looking at changing the way we let the public know about new and changing record reproduction fees.  As a result of public comments and staff deliberations, we’ve drafted a proposed rule that would remove reproduction fees schedule from the regulations and list them instead on our website, archives.gov. The rule would also ensure that the public is notified of new or changing fees through posted signs in research rooms, notices on our website, social media outlets and press releases.

So, what do you think?  The proposed rule is available to read in full on Regulations.gov or the Federal Register (search for “NARA Records Reproduction Fees”).  Take a look and submit your comments by September 20th!

You can submit your comments in any of the following ways:

  • Online at the Federal eRulemaking Portal: http://www.regulations.gov .  Search for “NARA Records Reproduction Fees” and follow the instructions for submitting comments.
  • Fax your comments to 301-837-0319.
  • Mail your comments to Regulations Comments Desk (NPOL), Room 4100, Policy and Planning Staff, National Archives and Records Administration, 8601 Adelphi Road, College Park, MD 20740-6001.
  • Hand Delivery or Courier comments to 8601 Adelphi Road, College Park, MD.

We want to hear from you!  By participating with the Federal government, you can help shape rules and regulations that impact your life.
