Last December, the National Archives started looking at changing the way we let the public know about new and changing record reproduction fees. As a result of public comments and staff deliberations, we’ve drafted a proposed rule that would remove reproduction fees schedule from the regulations and list them instead on our website, archives.gov. The rule would also ensure that the public is notified of new or changing fees through posted signs in research rooms, notices on our website, social media outlets and press releases.
So, what do you think? The proposed rule is available to read in full on Regulations.gov or the Federal Register (search for “NARA Records Reproduction Fees”). Take a look and submit your comments by September 20th!
