Join Us and David Ferriero for Our Next Monthly Meeting on Friday, April 23rd

David Ferriero, Archivist of the United States, is joining us for the second half of our monthly researcher meeting.  We hope you will be able to join us as well.  The meeting will be held on Friday, April 23rd, beginning at 1:00 PM in room G-24 at the National Archives building in Washington, DC.   

The agenda for the meeting will be

1:00 – 1:30: Updates and reports
1. Increasing the number of pulls – Vern Smith and Trevor Plante
     a. Weekdays
     b. Saturdays – possible pilot
     c. Rolling pulls
     d. More than one records group per pull
2. List of microfilm publications on Ancestry and Footnote – Mary Rephlo
3. Corrections to partner websites – Mary Rephlo
4. Updates – Jim Hastings
     a. WiFi installation
     b. Renovation in the National Archives Building
     c. Serial Set purchase
5. Requesting records online – Ann Cummings and Vern Smith
     a. Holdings Management System
     b. Processing initiative

1:30- 2:00:  Comments by the Archivist of the United States
1. Open Government Initiative
2. Citizen Archivists

The minutes from the meeting will be posted online for those who are unable to attend the meeting.

And don’t forget to mark your calendars for the upcoming meetings on Friday, May 21st at Archives II in College Park (room to be determined) and on Friday, June 25th in room G-24 of the National Archives building in Washington, DC.   More information, including the agendas for these meetings, will be posted here on NARAtions.
