Upcoming Researcher Forum Agenda – November 18th

The following post comes from Jennifer Nelson, Acting Executive for Research Services.

At this meeting NARA staff will provide brief updates about space reconfiguration at the National Archives Building in Washington DC, and a follow up to our September 16th digitization partnership meeting.  The main agenda item will seek audience input about a proposal to move certain records series, mostly from Archives II, to the National Archives at St Louis for their perpetual preservation, for use in reconstructing burned records, and for reference service to the public.  The proposal does not include the Civil War pension files.  This forum also will include an overview of the National Archives at St. Louis operations, discuss the completed construction of the new NPRC/National Archives at St. Louis facility, and explain how the public requests and receives access to records.

The Researcher Forum meeting will be Friday, November 18th at 1:00 p.m. in lecture rooms D/E A/B at Archives II (College Park).  Reservations are not required and meetings are open to all researchers and staff.
